"I’m goin’ home on a southbound train with a song in my mouth"
Tonight at the Tokyo Dome, the Rolling Stones played the song ‘Silver Train’ for the first time since Autumn 1973! The song was voted for by fans on RollingStones.com, the band’s official app, and their pages on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest.
The vote was very close, so the band also included runner-up ‘You Got Me Rocking’ in their 19 song set.
Joining Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie for ‘Silver Train’, was former Stone Mick Taylor, who played on the song the last time it was performed live, just weeks after the release of the album it’s featured on, Goats Head Soup.
The show marked the second sold out 14 ON FIRE concert at the Tokyo Dome. The band play their final night in Japan on Thursday at the Dome, which will be their 28th show at the venue.
